This year marks the 60th anniversary of the ecclesiastical ministry of Metropolitan Vasilios of Constantia and Famagusta.

On the occasion of this event, on Sunday, February 16, 2020, a Polyarchieratic concelebration was held officiated by Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, with concelebrants Metropolitans Gennadios of Sassima (representing Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew), Seraphim of Zimbabwe and Angola (representing Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria), Chrysostomos of Messinia (Church of Greece), Vasilios of Constantia and Famagusta, and others.

The Archbishop of Cyprus emphasized that God wishes all people, pious and impious, to become citizens of His heavenly kingdom, all of us to accept the grace of God so that with Ηim we will overcome all the difficulties of life, all the problems, and all the adversities of everyday life.

In addition, the Archbishop referred to the difficulties encountered by both himself and the honored Metropolitan in their journey as novices and monks. Difficulties, however, that gave them all they needed in the later course of their lives.

In his address, the President of the Republic of Cyprus emphasized the tireless service of the honored Metropolitan to the Church which is interconnected with both the social and the national duty.

In his own speech, Metropolitan Vasilios of Constantia and Famagusta praised God, whose grace and providence made him a worker in his own vineyard. “If I have accomplished something in my human weaknesses, this must be attributed to the grace and power of God,” he emphasized.
