With youthful smiles and festive melodies, the Great Hall of the St. Andrew’s Theological Seminary in Sydney was filled with joy on Monday, December 22.
There, Archbishop Makarios of Australia welcomed young men and women of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship of the Holy Archdiocese, who paid their traditional visit to the headquarters of the local Church ahead of the celebrations of Christmas and the New Year.
With lively voices and the accompaniment of musical instruments, the young people sang traditional Christmas carols to their Shepherd, spreading a sense of nostalgia, emotion, and hope. Present at this joyful occasion were the Protosyngellos, Bishop Christophoros of Kerasounta; Mr. Stylianos Magdalopoulos, a senior official of the Holy Archdiocese; members of the clergy; and administrative staff.
Archbishop Makarios warmly thanked the delegation of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship for their visit, as well as for their multifaceted contribution to the activities and mission of the Holy Archdiocese. Addressing the young people with fatherly affection, he encouraged them to continue their journey with faith in Christ and devotion to His Church. He also extended his heartfelt wishes for health, spiritual growth, and abundant blessings from God upon their lives and their families.
