Numerous churches dedicated to Saint Nicholas across the Orthodox Church of Albania celebrated the feast with reverence and joy.
Archbishop Ioannis of Albania presided over the Divine Liturgy at the festal Church of Saint Nicholas in Kavaja, where faithful gathered not only from the city itself but also from Tirana, Durrës, and the wider region. In his homily, the Archbishop emphasized that Saint Nicholas, through his life and example, teaches lessons of faith, gentleness, humility, and love.
Metropolitan Nikolaos of Fier also marked his name day in a simple and humble manner, receiving the warm wishes of the faithful. On the eve of the feast he officiated at Vespers in the old Church of Saint Nicholas in Vanaja of Libofsha, and on the feast day he celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Vatsika. Quietly and modestly, he continues to carry out notable spiritual and social work — a humble figure, always with a smile and kindness in his heart, supporting with all his strength the mission of the Church of Albania.
Metropolitan Antonios of Elbasan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Elbasan, where a procession of the Saint’s icon around the church took place at the end of the service, followed by a communal meal at the parish’s spiritual center.
Metropolitan Astios of Berat presided at the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Saint Nicholas in Paftal, while Metropolitan Anastasios of Korça celebrated in the Church of Saint Nicholas in Hoçisht. The historic Church of Saint Nicholas in Moschopolis, Korça, also marked the feast.
Metropolitan Nathaniel of Gjirokastër officiated at Vespers for Saint Nicholas in Georgoutsates and celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint Nicholas in Përmet. Additionally, the monasteries dedicated to Saint Nicholas in Palermo of Gjirokastër and in Mesopotam, along with many other churches honoring the Saint within the Metropolis of Gjirokastër, held their festal celebrations.
Across the country, the feast of Saint Nicholas was observed with devotion, prayer, and a spirit of unity, reflecting the deep-rooted faith and living tradition of Orthodoxy in Albania.
