The Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate met under the chairmanship of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the Phanar on February 16-18, in compliance with all the COVID-19 measures provided by the current legislation, ratified the minutes of the previous meetings, and examined all the items on the agenda to make the following decisions.
According to the relevant announcement, the decisions are the following:
(a) it has been decided to partially reconstitute some synodal committees in order to ensure their efficient operation;
b) Paris Asanakis, Archon Dikaiophylax, Lawyer of Piraeus, was appointed as legal adviser of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
At the end of the same meeting, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Mexico delivered an address and reply, on behalf of the outgoing members of the Holy Synod, and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew delivered an address and reply for the end of the current synodal period.
