On February 5, 2026, at the Orthodox Culture Centre of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Warsaw, with the blessing of Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland, the 19th National Conference of Methodological Advisors and Inspectors of Orthodox Religious Education was held.
The aim of the Conference was to exchange information and experiences regarding the organisation of Orthodox religious education in schools and catechetical centres under the new conditions arising from the changes and decisions of the Ministry of National Education, as well as to define further tasks and directions for action in the field of religious education.
The Conference began with a prayer service served in the academic chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius at the Orthodox Culture Centre by Protopresbyter Julian Felenczak, Inspector of Orthodox Religious Education of the Przemyśl–Gorlice Diocese.
The official programme opened with a meeting with His Beatitude Sawa, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, and representatives of the Ministry of National Education: Katarzyna Lubnauer, Secretary of State, and Małgorzata Krasuska, General Counsellor of the Ministry of National Education. This session was devoted to the topic: “The current state of religious education in schools and catechetical centres, as well as the changes introduced and planned decisions of the Minister of Education concerning religious education under the present conditions of the Orthodox Church.”
The afternoon session focused on the exchange of experiences related to the organisation of religious education in light of the changes introduced by the Minister of Education, as well as on proposals from the diocesan teams for Orthodox religious education regarding the methods and possibilities for implementing the curriculum framework and the syllabus of Orthodox religious education in schools and catechetical centres.
The Conference was moderated by the Director of the Orthodox Metropolis for Religious Education, Dr Jan Zieniuk. The event was attended by 20 inspectors and methodological advisors from all dioceses of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
The Conference concluded with words of gratitude to the organisers and participants, followed by a common meal.
