During his recent travel in Greece, Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey had the opportunity to explore the historic village of Olympos on the island of Karpathos. This charming village, with roots tracing back to the 8th century, welcomed His Eminence with warmth and reverence.
Among his visits, Metropolitan Apostolos toured the local church of the Dormition of the Theotokos, where he was graciously hosted by the parish priest, Fr. John Chalkias. The Metropolitan was deeply touched by the genuine hospitality and kindness extended to him by the village’s residents.
Throughout his stay in Olympos, Metropolitan Apostolos experienced the heartfelt welcome of the local community, many of whom have connections to the sacred Metropolis of New Jersey, particularly in Baltimore.
