From 23 to 27 April 2025, 50 students of the Christian Student Action of Thessaloniki made a pilgrimage to the Holy Metropolis of Pisidia.
The group, led by theologian Mr. Marios Domouchtsis and accompanied by Hieromonk Theologos Chrysanthakopoulos, visited Myra in Lycia (Demre), Side, Alanya, and Antalya.
The group, composed of students from various faculties of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, who actively participate in the life of the Church, either as cantors or catechists, sang the Divine Liturgy of Renewal Friday in the Church of St. Paul in Side, Vespers of the same evening in the Church of the Mother of God of Pisidia in Alanya, the Divine Liturgy of Renewal Saturday in the Church of St. Alypios in Antalya, during which the baptism of two young catechumens from the Metropolis of Pisidia was celebrated, and the Divine Liturgy of Thomas Sunday in the same church. All these services were presided over by the local pastor, Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, with the participation of the clergy and faithful from the parishes of the Metropolis, who bore witness to their pastoral and missionary work in words and deeds.
On Saturday evening, a joint concert was held in Antalya’s Old Town by the choir of St. Alypios Church and the young students, who performed liturgical hymns, folk songs from different countries, and traditional dances. This visit, which provided an opportunity to build bonds and friendship between believers and pilgrims, heralds many joint projects in the future.
