On Monday 26 August 2024, the new Consul General of Greece in Adelaide, Alexandra Theodoropoulos, visited Bishop Silouan of Adelaide, accompanied by her son Jason, and Father Charalampos Koutantos who has been appointed as a teacher in Adelaide by the Ministry of Education of Greece.
The new Consul General received a warm welcome from the Bishop on behalf of our Father and Primate, Archbishop Makarios of Australia. Mrs Theodoropoulos was guided through the Archiepiscopal Church of St Sophia (The Holy Wisdom of God) and the offices of the Diocese of Adelaide.
The Diocese of Adelaide offered lunch to the distinguished guests after which the Bishop received the Honourable Consul General in his office where they discussed matters of common care and concern. The Bishop informed Theodoropoulos about the diverse ecclesiastical, social, philanthropic, educational, cultural, missionary work of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
The Bishop did not fail to offer Theodoropoulos a gift of welcome on behalf of Archbishop Makarios while wishing that her tenure be, with God’s grace, fruitful and beneficial for all of Hellenism in South Australia.
