Following a unanimous decision, the Board of Directors of the Holy Association of Clergy of Greece (I.S.K.E.) visited the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Phanar on Tuesday, May 12.
The Board received a warm and paternal welcome from the Ecumenical Patriarch, which was all the more significant given that this was the first time the I.S.K.E. Board had visited the revered centre of Orthodoxy.
During the meeting, the president of the Holy Association, Protopresbyter Georgios Sellis, conveyed the organisation’s gratitude for the gracious hospitality and reaffirmed the commitment of the Greek parish clergy to the sacred institution of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
Both the Ecumenical Patriarch and the I.S.K.E. President emphasised the role and importance of the priest in an ever-changing world.
After receiving the Patriarchal blessings and wishes for its members, their families, and the local Metropolitans under whom they serve, the I.S.K.E. board, deeply moved, visited the sacred monuments and pilgrimage sites of the city and of Hellenism.
