A Clergy Assembly for the Holy Dioceses of Melbourne and Country, in the State of Victoria, was convened at the Parish of the Transfiguration of Christ the Saviour in Thomastown.
The meeting was presided over by Archbishop Makarios of Australia and attended by Bishops Kyriakos of Melbourne and Evmenios of Chora.
The primary focus of the assembly was the celebration of the centenary of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, set to culminate between October 4 and 19, 2024, with the presence of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Sydney and Melbourne.
During the assembly, preparations for the upcoming centenary events in the Dioceses of Melbourne and Chora were reviewed, with Archbishop Makarios providing guidance and directives to ensure their success.
