With the Blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, assisted by the clergy of the Archdiocesan District of Perth, officiated at the Vespers of Love which took place at the Holy Church of Saints Constantine and Helene, Perth.
The Vespers of Love is a service in which the Gospel reading (John 20:19-25) depicts the first appearance of the risen Lord to his disciples, and which is recited in many languages symbolizing that the glorious resurrection of Christ is proclaimed to all the nations of the world.
Bishop Elpidios commenced the Gospel reading in the Greek language and which was then followed by the same passage being recited in the English, Latin, Italian, Finnish, Japanese, Spanish, French, Afrikaans, and Bulgarian languages.
At the conclusion of the service, Bishop Elpidios conveyed all the paternal love and paschal wishes from Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
This was then followed with the chanting of the Archbishop’s Anthem (Fimi).
