The Vesper of Love was celebrated today in every Orthodox Church with the following main morale: “Forgive all by the Resurrection”, meaning that drawing on the power of Resurrection, we can forgive even those who hate us.
In a festive and joyful atmosphere, that springs from the meaning of Resurrection itself, the celebration of Christ’s triumph over death, the Vesper of Love was held today at the Metropolis of Athens.
Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece presided the Vesper Sacred Liturgy, assisted by the Bishops Pavlos of Neochori, Iakovos of Thaumakos, Symeon of Thespies, Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, Konstantios of Androusa and Chrysostomos of Evripos.
Clerics of the Archdiocese read the Gospel of John for Vesper in Greek, Slavic, Arab, English, French, German, and in sign language.
After the end of the Vesper Service, the Archbishop handed out Easter red eggs to everyone, conveying his best wishes.
