The Theological School of Halki, with the deepest human sorrow, announces the passing away into the Lord of one of its last Professors, the late Vassilios Anagnostopoulos, who passed away on Tuesday, 8 February, 2022.
The late Professor was born to a Levite family in 1923 in Chalcedon, Constantinople, and after completing his studies, he attended the Lyceum and Academic Department of the Theological Seminary, from which he graduated in 1946, after submitting his dissertation on supernatural revelation ”.
After completing his higher studies at the University of Oxford, as early as 1950, at a very young age, he was appointed Professor of the School of Theology, where he taught the courses of Patrology and from time to time the course of Jewish Archeology.
The late Professor was also for a long time President of the Halki Theological Center.
