On February 4th, the U.S. Ambassador, Kelly Degnan, visited Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia.
Patriarch Ilia II congratulated Ambassador Degnan on her appointment as U.S. Ambassador to Georgia and wished her success. The Ambassador thanked the Patriarch for the warm welcome and noted that the United States continues to support religious freedom in Georgia and around the world.
The Patriarch emphasized the need for the peaceful return of the occupied territories and expressed gratitude for the U.S.’s support for Georgia.
