Two days of negotiations between Ukrainian, Russian, and American representatives aimed at finding a path toward ending the war in Ukraine concluded today in Abu Dhabi.
“The negotiations have ended,” said Diana Davitian, spokeswoman for the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, speaking to reporters.
Kyrylo Budanov, head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, described the talks as “truly constructive.”
“The negotiations were truly constructive,” Budanov said, according to RBC-Ukraine. “I am grateful to the United States and the UAE for the very good organization and mediation.”
Earlier today, the head of the U.S. delegation, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, announced that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to proceed with a new exchange of prisoners of war, the first such exchange in five months, during the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi. The American envoy expressed satisfaction with the outcome, describing the discussions as “productive.”
