With the blessing of Metropolitan Daniel of Accra, Ivory Coast, and Mali, the Holy Sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation were celebrated for the twenty-two new Christians at the Parish of Saint George in the Angré Djorogobité area of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The sacraments were officiated by Archimandrite Fr. Chrysostomos, assisted by Oikonomos Stavrophoros Fr. Ismail, the parish priest, and Presbyter Fr. Bartholomew.
Seven of the newly baptized received the names Maria, Arsenios, Paisios, Panagiotis, Anastasia, Ioannis, and Ioulia. The “Orthodox Missionary Fraternity” of Thessaloniki sponsored their spiritual sponsorship and has long supported the missionary work of our Orthodox Church in Africa.
Orthodoxy continues to grow and bear fruit in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire thanks to the zealous, sacrificial, and loving pastoral and missionary work of all the priests of the Holy Archdiocese.
