Destici, who has declared “submission” to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and is collaborating on various internal fronts with the Gray Wolves and their leader, Devlet Bahceli, leader of the Nationalist Movement Party, called on the government to remove “Greek” and “Armenian” references from churches and schools in the Princes’ Islands in retaliation for what it called “treatment of the Turkish minority” in Greek Thrace.

Destici said that this practice should continue until Greece stops referring to the minority as “Muslim” and instead calls it “Turkish”.
“Until Greece formally recognizes the Turkish minority in Western Thrace and other parts of Greece, until it complies with the Treaty of Lausanne and implements the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights, let us do that,” Destici said.
Destiji’s BBP is part of an alliance between the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
