Ankara accused Athens of oppressing the minority in Western Thrace with the Turkish Foreign Ministry saying that Greece is ignoring the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights, as reported by skai.gr.
This message was uploaded on the Twitter account of the Turkish Foreign Ministry saying that “the Turks of Western Thrace have been fighting for more than 30 years for the recognition of their Turkish identity. The rulings of the European Court of Human Rights in favor of the minority have not been implemented for many years. We will always stand by our compatriots in their just struggle.”
