Surrounded by clergy and laity of the Archdiocese of Sydney, Archbishop Makarios presided over the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita.
While recommending to the gathering to set two goals for the new year, he asked that one of the two goals should be to smile more, adding joy to our demeanour, and spreading happiness to our environment.
He also presented Aimilianos of Meloa with a gift from all the clergy, honouring his recent election to Bishop. Finally, he walked amongst the faithful, greeting them and sharing pieces of the Vasilopita.
