Thousands of faithful gathered in Iași on Boulevard Ștefan cel Mare to attend the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of Saint Parascheva, one of Romania’s most important Orthodox celebrations.
The service was held at the outdoor altar set up near the Metropolitan Cathedral and was concelebrated by a large delegation of hierarchs from Romania and abroad, including Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki, Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral, and Metropolitan Anastas of Korça.
The “Sanctus” Choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Iași provided the liturgical responses, adding solemnity to the celebration.
This year’s feast holds special significance, as alongside the relics of Saint Parascheva of Iași, the holy relics of Saint Gregory Palamas, brought from Thessaloniki, Greece, were also placed for veneration by the faithful.
The annual pilgrimage to Iași continues to draw tens of thousands of Orthodox Christians from across Romania and abroad, who come to pray, give thanks, and seek blessings from the revered saints.
