Thomas Sunday (Antipascha) was celebrated with great splendor and Paschal joy on Sunday, April 20, 2026, in the Holy Metropolis of Zambia, in Kalundu.
The feast reached its peak with the Archieratical Divine Liturgy, presided over by Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia. Following the service, a procession with the holy icons of the Resurrection took place around the church, accompanied by the Service of Artoklasia.
Later, a special event was held in the courtyard of the Metropolis to honor all those who contributed selflessly to the successful organization of Holy Week and the Paschal celebrations. The Metropolitan conveyed the Resurrection greetings and blessing of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and presented commendations and honorary diplomas to children, youth, volunteers, and supporters of the community.
The celebration concluded with a festive Agape meal, marked by unity and joy, where traditional Greek dishes were shared. The gathering strengthened the spirit of community and faith, highlighting the vibrant Orthodox presence in the heart of Africa.
