On the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew went to the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi in Valoukli, where his predecessors Joachim II (from Kyzikos) and Joachim III (from Thessaloniki) rest in the expectation of the resurrection and performed a Trisagion in their favor.
Patriarch Bartholomew prayed as well for the rest of the soul of Joachim IV (from Derkoi), whose tomb is in Kallimasia, in his birthplace Chios, which Patriarch Bartholomew visited twice in the past and performed a Trisagion.
The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew did not fail to include in his prayers the late Metropolitan Joachim of Derkoi, also from Chios, who was previously the Metropolitan of Stavroupolis and Headmaster of the First Theological School of Halki.
