The Great Message was delivered this morning at the Sacred Patriarchal Church of St. George in Phanar by Metropolitan Athenagoras of New Jersey.
It is recalled that on Thursday, October 1, 2026, Athenagoras, until recently Bishop of Nazianzus, was elected Metropolitan of New Jersey by decision of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The election took place during the session of the Holy and Sacred Synod, which convened in its new composition, in effect since September 1, 2026.
