On the afternoon of Wednesday, April 14, 2021, during the Service of the Small Compline, the Great Canon was read at the Patriarchal Monastery of Saint Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.
Archbishop Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa presided over the service along with the Alexandrian High Priests, Metropolitan Narcissus of Nafkratis, Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, and Bishop Germanos of Tamiathus.
Before the Dismissal, in an emotional atmosphere, Deacon Father Kevin Madahana Luyali was tonsured as a rasophore monk by the Patriarch of Alexandria and gave him the name Ioakeim, thus honoring Saint Ioakeim I (Pany), Patriarch of Alexandria, a virtuous and wise ecclesiastical man.
