With the blessing of Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria and the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, and in cooperation with Bulgarian National Television (BNT), the Greek series Saint Paisios: From Farasa to the Heavens will be broadcast for the first time in Bulgaria. The series is dedicated to the wondrous and devout servant of God, Saint Paisios of Mount Athos.
Episodes will air Monday through Thursday at 10:00 p.m. on BNT 1, with the first episode scheduled for Wednesday, November 19. Dedicated to the life, work, and miracles of Saint Paisios, the production has impressed hundreds of thousands of viewers in Greece, Romania, Serbia, and other neighboring countries. It will now be broadcast to the Bulgarian audience for the first time.
Saint Paisios (Ezepidis) was born in 1924 in Cappadocia, Asia Minor, to Orthodox Christian parents. From a young age, he showed profound faith and distinguished himself through his piety. He firmly believed in God from a young age and later took monastic vows on Mount Athos, where he became renowned for his spiritual gifts and helped countless people. Saint Paisios died in 1994 and was canonized in 2015. His burial place, the Monastery of Saint John the Theologian in Souroti, Greece, remains a center of spiritual attraction for hundreds of faithful Christians who turn to this wondrous servant of God daily, seeking help and protection.
