The President of the Hellenic Republic, Aikaterini Sakellaropoulou, will pay an official visit to Cyprus from today, Monday, September 21st, until Wednesday, September 23rd.
At 12:30 Sakellaropoulou was received by the Primate of the Church of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostomos at the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus.
Upon her arrival, young students of the Pancyprian High School welcomed her offering a bouquet, as a sign of gratitude and respect for the President of the Hellenic Republic.
The President and her entourage went to the Archbishop’s Palace, where the Archbishop welcomed the President of the Hellenic Republic to the island of Cyprus and especially to its spiritual center, the Holy Archdiocese.
Archbishop Chrysostomos made a brief review of the history of the Church of Cyprus and the inseparable ties of Cyprus with Greece. In the end, he gave her a traditional Cypriot silver box of myrrh, as a memento of her visit to the Holy Archdiocese. In addition, keepsakes were distributed throughout the escort by the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus.
In turn, Sakellaropoulou gifted an ornately decorated silver tray to the Archbishop.
