The main opposition leader, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, visited Metropolitan Ierotheos of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios, during his tour in the prefecture of Aitoloakarnania.
Ierotheos welcomed K. Mitsotakis, who was accompanied by MPs and New Democracy officials, at his office.
At their meeting they spoke of the outcome of the Church and State Dialogue so far, where Ierotheos is chairing the Church Committee on Church-State Relations.
They also discussed about the history of the Metropolis, which formerly stood until Himara with thirteen Dioceses, and now has shrunk in the area of Nafpaktia, and about its potential, as well as about the heavy taxation (mainly ENFIA-property tax) that the charitable foundations pay to the State, without being able to fully meet their goals.
Mitsotakis also referred to the writing of the Metropolitan, who has written more than 100 books.
Metropolitan Ierotheos gave to Mr. Mitsotakis three books with articles, interviews and his interventions in matters of concern to the Church, the State, the Society and our homeland.
