On March 4, 2026, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia received at the Parish House of the Church of Saint Sava in Vračar students from the Faculty of Security Sciences at the University of Banja Luka, led by the Dean, Professor Dr. Predrag Ćeranić.
The distinguished guests expressed their gratitude to the Patriarch for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to visit the Church of Saint Sava and to become acquainted with the spiritual and cultural-historical heritage of the Serbian capital. During the discussion, the importance of the Church in preserving the spiritual, cultural, and national identity of the Serbian people was emphasized, as well as the fact that young people attentively follow the pastoral teachings and testimony of faith of the Head of the Saint Sava Church.
In welcoming the visitors, Patriarch Porfirije stressed that the Church of Saint Sava in Vračar represents a votive church for the entire Serbian people, wherever they may live in the world—a visible testimony of the faith, spiritual strength, and identity of our glorious ancestors and forefathers.
In the conversation with the students, the Patriarch emphasized that if a person loses their spiritual roots and identity, they also lose their true meaning.
“Our faith teaches us love, forgiveness, and mutual understanding, and these are precisely the values upon which every healthy and secure society is built. Without a spiritual foundation, no nation can permanently preserve either its freedom or its future, because the true strength of a society is born from moral responsibility, mutual trust, and living faith—the spiritual strength and identity,” emphasized Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Patriarch Porfirije wished the students success in their studies and in their future professional careers, emphasizing that knowledge, responsibility, and moral integrity are the foundations upon which a just and secure society is built.
