The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, with warmth and brotherly love, Patriarch John X of Antioch, who is visiting the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
The Patriarch of Antioch, who in the preceding days had been in southeastern Turkey as part of a pastoral visit to regions under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Antioch, wished to travel to Constantinople to personally convey to the Ecumenical Patriarch his Easter greetings, also responding to earlier invitations from Patriarch Bartholomew.
Upon the arrival of the Primate of the ancient Patriarchate of Antioch at the gates of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, he was received by the clergy of the Patriarchal Court, while the bells rang festively.
After venerating in the venerable Patriarchal Church, he proceeded to the Patriarchal residence, where the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was awaiting him.
This was followed by a meeting between the two Primates, attended by Metropolitan Elder Emmanuel of Chalcedon, President of the Synodal Committee on Inter-Orthodox Affairs, and Metropolitan Gregory of Ankara, Chief Secretary, as well as members of the Antiochian Patriarch’s delegation: Metropolitan Ephraim of Aleppo, Bishop Paul of Tarsus, and Archimandrite Parthenios Allati, Personal Secretary to the Patriarch of Antioch.
Immediately afterwards, the Ecumenical Patriarch hosted a dinner in honor of the Patriarch of Antioch and his entourage.
Patriarch John X will remain in Constantinople until midday on Thursday.
