Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East emphasized the pioneering role played by the sons and daughters of the Church of Antioch throughout all periods of Syria’s history and that of the wider region.
He made this statement during his meeting with Mrs. Madona Bshara, Deputy Speaker of the Syrian Parliament, at the Patriarchal See in Damascus.
The Patriarch congratulated Mrs. Bshara on her election to the People’s Assembly and highlighted the important role and responsibility undertaken by the legislative body in the reconstruction and advancement of Syria.
For her part, Mrs. Bshara underscored the pivotal role of the Church of Antioch in promoting dialogue, encounter, and the building of bridges of understanding and cooperation among all components of Syrian society.
