In the presence of the Primate of the Alexandrian Church, Patriarch Theodore and the Alexandrian parish will celebrate on October 28, observing the COVID-19 restrictive measures, in the beautiful church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Alexandria, in the presence of the parochial authorities.
The laying of wreaths will follow on the two monumental plaques in the courtyard of the church, by the Consul General of Greece in Alexandria Athanasios Kotsionis and the First Vice President of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria (EKA), Giannis Siokas, in these monuments that show the sacrifices that the Egyptian Alexandrians paid with their blood during World War II.
The whole memorial ceremony, immediately after the Divine Liturgy for the feast of the Intercession of the Theotokos, which will begin shortly before 9 and end shortly after 10, will end with the national anthems of Greece and Egypt.
