In the context of the concern of Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, for the health of Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania, the Patriarch, on Friday morning, 23 January, after the Divine Liturgy, offered a prayer for the recovery of the ailing Primate of the Church of Albania.
In his address to the members of the Patriarchal Court present, he praised the Archbishop’s contributions to the Patriarchate of Alexandria and spoke with emotion of the years that Archbishop Anastasios served in the mission in Kenya, leaving his own indelible mark and legacy.
On the solemn instructions of the Patriarch, Metropolitan Georgios of Guinea, accompanied by Archimandrite Joachim Skrekas, Dean of the historic Church of Saints Constantine and Helen in Cairo, visited the “Evangelismos” Hospital. There they met with Bishop Theophilos of Kruja and Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese of Albania. They were informed of the progress of the ailing Archbishop’s health and conveyed the Patriarch of Alexandria’s heartfelt wishes, love and constant concern for the health of this pillar of the Church in Albania.
