On Thomas’ Sunday, May 1, 2022, Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa presided over, according to custom, the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary of the Arab Orthodox Community of Alexandria.
The service was co-officiated by Bishop Narcissus of Pelusium and the Bishop Nikodimos of Neiloupolis.
Preaching the Divine Word, the Patriarch expressed his great joy for being among the dedicated and active Arab children of the Alexandrian Church, bestowing his Patriarchal pleasure.
In the end, he performed the Sanctification Service on the occasion of the beginning of the new month.
It should be noted that the above Church belongs to the Arab Orthodox Community of Alexandria, the reconstruction of which began in 1881 and was inaugurated in 1888 by Patriarch Sophronios of Alexandria. The aforementioned Community contributed to its construction, which remains alive and active to this day.
