New Ambassador of Ukraine to Athens Sergii Shutenko visited Metropolitan Nicholas of Mesogaia along with First Secretary on Consular Affairs Hanna Tischenko, General Director for Worldwide Ukrainians, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation Larysa Dir and Adviser on Religious Affairs Georgios Papachristou.
During this meeting, they had discussions with Metropolitan Nicholas on ecclesiastical and cultural matters while they informed him about the recent independence of the Ukrainian Church.
In addition, they pointed out that there is a great necessity that the Metropolitan should maintain the good relations with Ukraine.
Metropolitan Nicholas wished the new Ambassador and his colleagues every success in his new duties while he expressed his love for the Ukrainian people.
