Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus received at his office the new Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Cyprus, Bishop Nicodemus of Nitria, on Tuesday March 12th, in the presence of the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Cyprus, Ioannis Ioannou.
The new representative of the Patriarchate of Alexandria succeeds in his duties Archimandrite Father Athinodoros Papaevripiadis.
During the presence of Father Athinodoros in the Exarchate of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, important conservation and restoration work took place in the historic Church of Saint Sabbas the Sanctified in old Nicosia, a church which was granted by the Archbishop of Cyprus for the needs of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
Bishop Nicodemus of Nitria presented gifts to the Archbishop of Cyprus as a statement of his respect and love to the Primate of the Church of Cyprus, and Archbishop Chrysostomos in turn, offered a collectible encolpion to the new Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Cyprus.
