Great hopes were raised by this great Feast. The Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ is the light that illuminates the whole world. The Church calls on the faithful to worship the swaddled newborn baby, as the Magi and the shepherds once did. The King of kings and Lord of lords is born. He is the new Adam, God the Son, the Logos (Word) of God.
This is the first manifestation of Jesus Christ, his first Epiphany. That is why, until the 4th century, Christmas and the Baptism of Jesus were celebrated on the same day, on January 6th. However, we must not forget that He who was born in Bethlehem is the God-man: the perfect God, as the only begotten Son of the Father, and the perfect man, himself in all of us, without sin, which does not belong to our nature, but it is a state of affairs, due to the disobedience and fall of the first Adam.
The Nativity of Christ showed that the true man has fallen into sin. The only way for true salvation is to follow the example and the way of life of Jesus Christ. The Messiah is now present in our lives and in the Church, and it is our personal responsibility not to wander around but to follow the right path, where we will find Jesus Christ.
