On Monday, June 8, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece will receive Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of his visit to Athens.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lana Zochiou, the topics of discussion will include cooperation between Greece and the Patriarchate, as well as Greece’s tangible support for the Patriarchate, the Christian presence, and its heritage.
In recent times, Greece, in cooperation with the Patriarchate, has been promoting various initiatives in Jerusalem and within its jurisdictional area, focusing on the Patriarchate and the Holy Sites. Greece is committed to continuing its support for the Patriarchate. The issue of the Christian presence in Jerusalem and the Middle East has been, and remains, a matter of crucial importance for Greece.
