Today, on December 12, 2025, a meeting took place at the Rector’s Office of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) between Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia and Mozambique and the Rector of NKUA, Professor Gerasimos Siasos.
The Metropolitan informed the Rector about the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Metropolis of Zambia and the University of Lusaka regarding the establishment of a Chair of Greek Studies, as well as the creation of the first Olympic Museum in Africa and the promotion of Olympic education in Zambia.
In an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust, they also discussed the prospects for cooperation between the Metropolis and Greek-language educational institutions to further disseminate Greek education and culture among the population of southern Africa.
