On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, accompanied by members of the Hagiotaphite Brotherhood, met with the Custos of the Holy Land, Father Francesco, and other Franciscan representatives, including Fathers Dobromir and Athanasios, as well as representatives of the Armenian Patriarchate and other clergy from these communities, at the Franciscan monastery.
During the meeting, specialists from Sapientia University in Rome gave a detailed presentation on the progress of the restoration work on the substructure and flooring in the Heptakamaron, Rotunda, and Deposition areas of the Holy Church of the Resurrection. The specialists also provided a technical briefing on the structural reinforcements and replacement of damaged floor slabs, as well as the sponsorship funding for these projects.
Subsequently, the Patriarch received Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Secretary General of the Patriarchate of Moscow, and Father Nikolay Balashov, representatives of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow. They conveyed an invitation for Patriarch Theophilos to participate in today’s Divine Liturgy, which marks the centenary of the founding of the Russian Church and Monastery in Hebron, near the Tombs of the Patriarchs.
