Metropolitan Cleopas of Sweden and All Scandinavia, having been graciously invited by the Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See in Stockholm, Archbishop Julio Murat of Orange, attended the Thanksgiving Mass held on the occasion of the election of the new Pontiff, Leo XIV.
The service took place at Saint Eric’s Catholic Cathedral in Stockholm on the afternoon of Friday, May 16, 2025.
Present at the Divine Liturgy were representatives of various Christian denominations and confessions, ambassadors from several countries, and faithful who had gathered to extend their heartfelt congratulations on this significant occasion.
After the service, the Shepherd of the Scandinavian lands conveyed to the Apostolic Nuncio the warm congratulations of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, as well as those of the Holy Metropolis of Sweden in its entirety, on the election of the new Pope.
