The Metropolis of Austria would like to inform users of the social media platform TikTok that there are fake accounts in circulation using the name, title, or photograph of Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria and Exarch of Hungary without the official approval of the Sacred Metropolis.
As stated in the relevant announcement, any such account is fraudulent and in no way connected to the Sacred Metropolis of Austria or the Metropolitan’s official social media presence.
The Sacred Metropolis is urging the faithful not to follow, communicate with, or respond to messages, requests, or any other form of communication from these accounts, as they are intended to mislead the public by misusing the Metropolitan’s identity.
All social media users are also urged to verify the authenticity of online accounts and inform the Sacred Metropolis of any similar incidents.
The Sacred Metropolis of Austria will take all lawful action to protect the faithful, address incidents of online fraud, and safeguard the truth.
