Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia presided over the meeting of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, held in the Diocesan headquarters in Banja Luka, on 4 April 2023.
Important current issues related to the life of the Serbian Orthodox Church, particularly in the areas of the Republic of Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, were discussed during the meeting. Members of the Holy Synod of Bishops, including Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral, and Bishops Vasilije of Srem and Fotije of Zvornik–Tuzla participated in the work of the meeting. Also present were the Diocesan Hierarchs of the Dioceses located in the Republic of Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina: Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar–Bosnia, and Bishops Jefrem of Banja Luka, Sergije of Bihać–Petrovac and Dimitrije of Zahumlje–Herzegovina, as well as the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of Bishops Archimandrite Nektarije (Đurić).
The meeting of the Patriarchal Administrative Board was held the same day, with Board Members and the Director of the Patriarchal Administrative Office Very Venerable Archimandrite Danilo (Gavranović) participating in its work.
