The Greek Community of Lusaka today, Friday, May 31, bid farewell to the former President of the Greek Community, Giannis Axiotis.
The funeral service was held at the Holy Church of St. Basil at the Missionary Center and was presided over by Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia.
In his eulogy, the Metropolitan recalled the deceased’s contributions to promoting Greek culture and his service to the Church. The Metropolitan urged the children of the deceased to continue their father’s work with the same zeal.
Eulogies were delivered by his son Alexandros, the President of the Community, Mr. G. Iliakopoulos, and others.
