On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, the great feast of Theophany was celebrated with solemnity at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Holy Archangels in Brussels, with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy followed by the Great Blessing of the Waters.
The festive service was presided over by Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium, Metropolitan of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg, assisted by the priests and deacons of the church.
The hymns of the feast were chanted with reverence by the church’s choirs of cantors, creating an atmosphere of spiritual joy and deep devotion that marked the celebration of the Lord’s Baptism.
A large number of faithful gathered prayerfully for the Feast of Lights, receiving the grace of the Baptized Christ and the blessing of the Great Sanctification of the Waters, for the sanctification of their lives and the strengthening of their faith.
