Metropolitan Bartholomew of Smyrna attended a meal with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Georgios Theodoridis, president of the Orthodox Community of Smyrna and pastors of the Anglican community, of the Protestants and the Baptists of the city, as well as representatives of the Jewish community, were also present at the meal.
During the meal, the Foreign Minister informed his dining companions about the interest of the Turkish government in the minorities living in the country; he even asked for information on issues of the minorities in Smyrna regarding the fulfillment of the religious duties of the members of those minorities.
At the end of the meeting, Mevlut Cavusoglu gave an interview to the media.
