The start of the Indiction and the beginning of the Liturgical Year was celebrated solemnly on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Nea Ionia.
Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia presided over the Orthros and the Divine Liturgy accompanied by the Archieratic Commissioner of Tinos, Protopresbyterian Georgios Faneros and clergy from the Holy Metropolis. The liturgy was attended by local authorities and dozens of faithful.
In his speech, the Metropolitan referred to the Feast of the Indiction, which is a unique opportunity for a new start for everyone, while calling on faithful people to follow the “path of liturgies” for the new ecclesiastical year by participating in the Mysteries of our church.
