Metropolitan Emmanuel of France officiated at the church of St. Stephen in Paris on Ascension Thursday.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Protopresbyter of the church, Panayiotis Xenitelis.
Metropolitan Emmanuel stressed that the 318 God-bearing Fathers of the First Ecumenical Synod wrote in the Creed: the Symbol of Faith, “He shall come again with glory” and “I look for the resurrection of the dead,” and we repeat it regularly.
Some of us will be in the Resurrection of Life and others in the One of Judgment, so we have to be vigilant and always ready spiritually, he stressed.
