With all due solemnity and a large turnout of parishioners and friends of the Diplokionion Community in Constantinople, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, 8 March 2025, and a festive event followed, during the annual festival of the Sanctified Spring of the Holy Forty Martyrs.
During the Holy Service on Saturday, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonia, Supervisor of the Bosphorus District, officiated, with the participation of a large number of faithful, coming both from the local parish and from other, more distant parts of the City of Constantinople.
The Ephorate of the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Diplokionion (Beşiktaş), chaired by Mr. Dinos Belalidis, made the necessary preparations so that the area of the Sanctified Spring would meet the needs of the faithful, while ensuring that the local authorities were invited, as a matter of protocol. For his part, Metropolitan Athenagoras expressed his satisfaction with the keen organisation and preparation.
It is noted that this year too, a very large congregation, a multitude of believers and visitors, including presidents and members of the Ecclesiastical Committees of the charitable institutions, educators and other citizens, while a representative of the Association of Greek Community Institutions (SYRKI) was also present at the Sanctified Spring for the feast day. The Deputy Mayor of Diplokionion (Beşiktaş Belediyesi) Mr. Rasim Sisman sent a festive wreath on behalf of the Municipality, while among the local leaders was also the Advisor to the Mayor, Mr. Nuran Palakoglou.
A reception followed with a rich buffet.
Everyone congratulated the Ephorate, the president Mr. Belalidis and his associates, for the excellent maintenance of the Sanctified Spring of the Holy Forty Martyrs and the preparation of the space for the Divine Liturgy and the reception of the faithful. At the same time, they thanked the Supervisor of the Bosphorus District, Metropolitan Athenagoras, for his support and presence for the feast day celebrations.
