The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew received the Greek singer Konstantinos Argyros in audience at the Phanar today, May 12, 2025.
Argyros is visiting Constantinople for the first time on the occasion of the concert he will give on July 9 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Zappeion School.
Konstantinos Argyros shared the following on social media about his visit to the Phanar:
Today I had the great honor of meeting the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, an experience that will remain indelible in my heart.
The atmosphere in the Patriarchate was filled with spirituality and history that permeated every corner of the room. The Patriarch, with his wisdom and gentleness, shared with me his thoughts on the challenges facing Orthodoxy in the modern world.
We spoke of the need for unity and solidarity – not only among the faithful, but also on a global scale. Through his work, the Patriarch promotes peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding among different cultures and religions, emphasizing the importance of love and acceptance.
He also spoke of the initiatives he has taken to protect the environment, emphasizing that nature is a gift that must be preserved for future generations. His efforts in the areas of education and social justice are truly remarkable, always intending to contribute to the well-being of all people.
This meeting was not only a personal experience, but also a source of inspiration for all of us to bring the values of faith and love into our daily lives. I thank the Ecumenical Patriarch with all my heart for his warm welcome and wise words.
