The Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew awarded the Cross of Pammakaristos to former Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov for his support of the Mother Church during his recent trip to Sofia, where he visited on the occasion of the election and enthronement of the new Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria.
On Sunday morning, June 30, the Ecumenical Patriarch visited the National Assembly building, where he met with the Speaker of Parliament, Rania Nazarian, and Mr. Boyko Borissov, former Prime Minister and leader of the GERB party, whom he honored with the Cross of Pammakaristos for his support of the Mother Church.
